BOARD TRANSITION

Stanmore Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Stewart Butel as Chairman effective from 1 February 2018. Current Chairman Neville Sneddon, informed shareholders at the 2017 AGM he would be leaving Stanmore in the New Year. Stewart was appointed to the Board in September 2017 which has allowed an orderly transition from Neville to Stewart.

Stanmore is very appreciative of the leadership and guidance provided by Neville during the lows and highs of the coal sector since his appointment to the Board in October 2009. Neville was instrumental in the acquisition of the Isaac Plains mine and Isaac Plains East project which transformed Stanmore from an exploration company to an operating mining company. Stanmore wishes Neville all the best in his future pursuits.

Stewart Butel has more than 40 years of experience in operational management and board roles in the resources industry in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. He joined Wesfarmers Limited in 2000 as Managing Director of the Curragh mine, and was Managing Director of Wesfarmers Resources between 2006 and 2016. Mr Butel holds a Bachelor of Science (Geology) and qualifications in business and mining. He was appointed to the Board of Gladstone Ports Corporation in October 2017. He is a past director of the Duet Group and is an immediate past President of Queensland Resources Council and has held directorships of a number of industry bodies including Minerals Council of Australia, Australian Coal Association and its low emissions technology fund, ACALET.
