KEY APPOINTMENT TO DRIVE SALES AND DISTRIBUTION

CHANNELS FOR AUSSIESIM

  • ZipTel appoints highly experienced retail sales and distribution manager for AussieSim.

  • Focus on distribution roll out strategy increasing retail footprint to drive further sales growth.

  • Appointment represents one of first key marketing initiatives undertaken by ZipTel.

ZipTel Limited (“ ZipTel ” or “ the Company ”, ASX: ZIP ) is pleased to announce that the Directors have engaged the services of Mr Alun Cooksley to lead the expansion of the Company’s sales and distribution channels for its international pre-paid travel sim card, AussieSim.

As an experienced General Manager of retail sales and distribution, Alun will be responsible for creating new distribution channels to market the AussieSim brand and introduce emerging growth opportunities for the product.

Alun has an extensive and proven track record for delivering significant sales growth in the telecommunications industry over the past decade. With AussieSim showing impressive signs of growth, this appointment is one of the first key initiatives undertaken by the Company to drive its retail distribution presence, brand awareness and sales.

Alun Cooksley Key Achievements:

As 3 Mobile National Sales Manager / Dealer (2003 – 2009)

  • Responsible for 3 Dealer and mass retail channel strategy.

  • Managing resources, operational cost and channel points of presence.

  • Growth and implementation of 3's largest retail dealer with in excess of 80 locations.

  • Grew 3's retail channel from 35% of total sales in 2006 to 50% of sales July 2008.

As Vodafone General Manager Retail Partners (2009 – 2012)

  • Achieved sales volumes of 1 million prepaid sim card sales in 2010 with revenue of ~$900 million.

  • Managed key relationships with major mass retailers for Vodafone.

  • Drove productivity improvements across communications category for mass retailers whilst reducing overall cost to acquire for Vodafone.

  • Launched prepaid distribution channel in 'Route and Convenience' segment in over 600 locations within 12 months achieving >60,000 units in first year.

  • Led joint channel marketing initiatives to achieve best supplier awards with multiple channel partners.

Commenting on Alun Cooksley’s appointment, Co-founder of AussieSim Pty Limited and ZipTel Executive Director Keaton Wallace said, “This is a crucial and exciting appointment for ZipTel as we look to fast track our distribution footprint into retail points of presence throughout Australia for our AussieSim product. Alun has an excellent and proven track record in developing relationships and distribution agreements with Australia’s largest retail chains which have resulted in him achieving award winning results.”
