REA Group director reduces shareholding

REA Group Ltd (ASX:REA) has been advised that Director John McGrath yesterday sold a significant portion of his REA shareholding in order to diversify his investment portfolio.

Mr McGrath sold 2 million REA shares to a range of institutional shareholders at a share price of $7.20. This parcel of shares represented approximately 1.6% of REA’s issued capital. Mr McGrath retains 139, 086 shares in REA.

Commenting on the share sale, Mr McGrath said: “As a longstanding Board member of REA, I have watched first hand as the Company has grown from humble beginnings in a garage in Doncaster to become one of the great success stories of the Australian online scene.

“My decision to sell a large portion of my REA shares simply reflects my desire to increase the diversity of my investment portfolio. I will continue to be a shareholder of REA and an active member of the Board,” Mr McGrath commented.
