Re: Appointment of South African Representative
IMT is pleased to announce the appointment of Africa Geo-Environmental Services (AGES) as its representative in South Africa.
AGES is an environmental consultancy consisting of a dynamic and dedicated team of professionals from a range of fields, including geo-hydrologists, engineering geologists, geotechnicians, engineers and environmental specialists. The company is based in Pretoria and provides consultancy services to a range of organizations from small and large corporations to local and regional government authorities.
As IMT's representative in South Africa, AGES will be responsible for the sales and marketing of Phoslock throughout South Africa. AGES has already begun proactively marketing Phoslock and meetings have been held with a variety of governmental water authorities, including high level water resource managers and regional water treatment companies.
According to Mr Koos Viviers, the Director of AGES' Gauteng Office,
"There are major market opportunities for Phoslock in South Africa due to the high volumes of nutrients that have accumulated in the sediments of the country's lakes and dams over the years. This, combined with other environmental factors such as low rainfall and warm, windless weather, have resulted in the growth of toxic blue green algae in a number of water bodies across the country. The South African Government is actively looking for solutions to these problems and we expect Phoslock to play an important role in the formulation of these solutions.
The first applications of Phoslock are expected to take place later this year on retention dams at sewerage treatment plants. Plans are also being developed to apply Phoslock to a small water body outside Pretoria"
Further information on AGES can be obtained by visiting their website at www.ages-group.com or by contacting Brett Crowley, CEO, on 02 9698 0622.
