POSITIVE PROFIT ALERT

This announcement is made by Yanchang Petroleum International Limited (the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) pursuant to Rule 13.09 of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and the Inside Information Provisions under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

The board of directors (the “Board”) of the Company wishes to inform the shareholders of the Company and potential investors that based on management information currently available, the Group is expected to record a profit attributable to shareholders of the Company for the year ended 31 December 2013 as compared to a loss for the corresponding year of 2012. The turnaround was mainly attributable to the substantial increase in the Group’s turnover as a result of the rapid growth of the refined oil business in the PRC. The Group recorded a turnover for the year of 2013 which increased by more than 1.5 times as compared to that of the corresponding year of 2012.

As the Company is still in process of finalising the annual results for the year ended 31 December 2013, the information contained in this announcement is only based on the preliminary assessment of the Group’s management accounts that have not been audited or reviewed by the Company’s auditors, and is therefore subject to change. Formal announcement of the Group’s audited annual results for the year ended 31 December 2013 is expected to be published on or before 31 March 2014.
