Investment.com acquires Mutual Fund Review Inc. and Financial Player Inc.

Investment.com announces addition of fund experts Levi Folk and Richard Webb to its team

Vancouver, British Columbia, February 21, 2000 – Investment.com (GIV:CDNX) announces that it has signed an asset purchase agreement with Mutual Fund Review Inc. and Financial Player Inc. to acquire the Mutual Fund Review magazine, Fund Counsel newsletter, fundcounsel.com Web site and various other assets for a combination of cash and stock. The company further announces that the editors of Mutual Fund Review, Levi Folk and Richard Webb, will be joining its fast-growing team in the position of Executive Producers.

Levi Folk and Richard Webb will join the Investment.com Toronto office and will play a significant role in the future development of Investment.com coverage of mutual funds, both in Canada and the United States. They have spent more than five years in the finance industry, and have written for some of the world’s top publications including the Financial Times of London and Canada’s Globe and Mail newspaper. The two are regular contributors to the National Post, Toronto Star, Les Affaires and Investor’s Digest of Canada.

Mutual Fund Review and its sister publication, the French-language magazine, La revue des fonds mutuels, together reach a controlled circulation of 180,000 Canadian investors every quarter, including 10,000 paid subscribers. The two magazines are the premier source of mutual fund information in the Canadian magazine market, and have revolutionized the way Canadians think about their finances.

The Fund Counsel newsletter provides independent investors and financial advisors with invaluable monthly research into financial market movements and mutual fund performance. Its stellar portfolio performance has been cited in numerous publications from the Globe and Mail to Forbes magazine.

Mr. Folk and Mr. Webb’s online presence includes the overwhelmingly popular fundcounsel.com Web site - an investment resource with 4,000 registered users. Their Internet work also includes three columns a week for Sympatico.com, a weekly feature on Globefund.com and a feature on The Fund Library.

Other media appearances include a weekly spot on Garth Turner’s Investment Television. Mr. Folk and Mr. Webb are also regulars on CBC Newsworld Business News, CBC’s Money Show, CityTV and CTV, and speak regularly at investment forums and seminars. “We are very excited about the acquisition of the Mutual Fund Review (English & French versions), the Fund Counsel Web site, and the addition of Levi Folk and Richard Webb to the management team,” said Charles Desjardins, Investment.com President and CEO. “The breadth of coverage in the premier mutual fund magazine in Canada, combined with the content on fundcounsel.com will give Investment.com the core assets to build a highly functional, interactive mutual fund resource for Canadians, Americans, and foreign investors.”

“Levi Folk and Richard Webb understand the mutual fund industry in Canada, and world wide. We expect that Mr. Folk and Mr. Webb will be key decision makers in the growth strategy of

Investment.com Mutual Fund section in other markets beyond Canada. We consider it to be a coup to get people of the quality of Mr. Folk and Mr. Webb on the Investment.com team. They understand the industry, they see the vision and potential of Investment.com, and these are the kind of people who make things happen,” said Charles Desjardins, Investment.com President and CEO.

“We are tremendously excited about this new venture,” said Levi Folk, “Publishing Mutual Fund Review under the Investment.com banner will create synergies that will benefit every aspect of Investment.com business.”

Mutual Fund Review, which will be renamed Investment.com Mutual Fund Review, is the second magazine in the growing Investment.com publishing stable, complementing Investment.com Magazine – the first issue of which is scheduled to be widely distributed in Canada next week with The Globe and Mail.

“Mutual Fund Review will provide Investment.com users with a vast array of first-class mutual fund content and analysis – and will provide an excellent complement to the more broadly-focused Investment.com Magazine,” said Investment.com chief operating officer Geof Wheelwright. “The growing mix of revenues from online and offline media properties that we expect to flow from these acquisitions should significantly enhance our projected revenues for the coming year.”
